Barcelona vs Bayern Munich Odds, Picks, & Predictions for Today’s Champions League Match (Sept. 14) (Time : 20:00)

Barcelona vs Bayern Munich Odds

Barcelona and Bayern Munich will face off in the Champions League on Tuesday at Camp Nou in Barcelona, Spain.

During the opening day of the 32-team showcase, the historic clubs will face off in the first encounter of Group E.  D in the other encounter, Benfica and Dynamo Kyiv battle it off in Ukraine at the NSC Olimpiyskyi stadium.

As a result, Barcelona will not have Lionel Messi as a leader in this encounter. As one of the world’s best players, the Argentinian has joined Paris Saint-Germain and will lead the French team in Group A of the championship.

Bayern Munich, the Bundesliga champion, aims to recapture the magic it had two years ago when it won the UCL title. The Bavarians won the title with a 1-0 win over PSG, completing a rare continental triple in the process. The club also won the DFB-Pokal (German cup) as well.

When you consider that Bayern Munich is playing on the road against a team that’s more than capable, it’s easy to see why they’re the -105 moneyline favorite heading into this clash. Having stated that, let’s have a look at what’s possible.

A New Barcelona Without Messi’s Presence

Whoever has the best or worst team in Europe has no bearing on the outcome. All of this is a fact of life. As a result, La Blaugrana’s finest player has departed, leaving an unfilled gap that is unlikely to be replaced.

Due to the departures of Lionel Messi, as well as Antoine Griezmann who re-joined Atlético Madrid, Barcelona went from being great to being very good in a flash. In just three games of the La Liga season, Barça has been without him.

Bayern Munich’s season gets off to a flying start with Lewandowski’s goals

Bavaria is still the dominant power in the German top flight, and not much has changed. A 1-1 tie with Borussia Mönchengladbach was their first league loss, and they’ve gone undefeated in their first four league games.

Bayern Munich has been on fire since then, winning three straight Bundesliga games. As a result, Bayern Munich has amassed 12 goals, with Robert Lewandowski leading the way with six goals, including a hat trick against Hertha Berlin two weeks ago.

In terms of sophisticated measures, they are as crooked as you may have guessed they would be. Bayern Munich has amassed 12.5 xG and allowed 3.8 xG, resulting in a dazzling 8.7 xGDiff and +2.18 xG differential for every 90 minutes of football played.

Fans of Bayern Munich should be terrified by what they did to RB Leipzig last weekend at Red Bull Arena. Their 4-1 blowout was driven by their massive 4.2-0.5xG lead and total dominance on both sides of the pitch.

Analysis & Prediction

It’s impossible to find flaws with this Bayern Munich team if you’re objective. For the Bavarians, things are going well, but not for their battered and bruised hosts.

This is why my top pick is Bayern Munich on the moneyline at -105 odds, and I’m going to keep it simple. So even on Spanish soil, the Germans have too many ways to break down Barcelona’s shaky defense.

If you like betting on player props, you can’t go wrong with Lewandowski scoring anytime at -165 odds. Deeper down the board and take a shot on Leroy Sané at +320 odds on the same wager. Sané scored in the thrashing of RB Leipzig, so perhaps his form will continue over in this match.

Bayern Munich is my pick (-105)
