How to check your 2021 WAEC results through online portal and SMS

The results of the 2021 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) were released by the West African Examination Council (WAEC) on Monday, November 22.

The examination body processed the results of 80.56 percent of the candidates who sat for the tests, while the results of 19.44 percent of the applicants who sat for the exams are still being processed, according to Patrick Areghan, the Head of the Nigeria National Office of WAEC.

According to Areghan, this year’s exam was more successful than last year’s, with 89.62 percent of candidates receiving credit and above in a minimum of five (5) subjects (with or without English Language and Mathematics), and 81.7 percent of those who sat for the exams receiving credits and above in a minimum of five (5) subjects, including English Language and Mathematics.

Candidates who took the examinations can check their results online or through SMS by going to the WAEC result checking page and following the instructions.

How to check WAEC results online using the official result checking portal

Log into the WAEC result checking site at www.waecdirect.com and follow the examination body’s format.

• Enter your WAEC Examination Number, which is ten digits long.

(The first seven-digit is your centre number followed by your three-digit candidate code, for example, 4123456789.)

• Enter the four-digit examination year, for example, 2021.
• Select the Examination Type.
• Enter the voucher’s e-PIN number.
• Enter your e-Personal PIN’s Identification Number (PIN).
• After clicking “Submit,” wait for the results window to appear.

How to check the 2021 WAEC results using SMS 

Candidates can also verify their results using their mobile phones by sending SMS using the following procedure, according to the testing body.

Candidates must text WAEC*ExamNo*PIN*ExamYear to the short-code 32327. (MTN, Airtel & Glo subscribers).

WAEC*4250101001*123456789012*2021 is an example.

Candidates should follow the above-mentioned format. This implies that there is no need for more space in the message.

The result will be received through mobile phone at a cost of N30 after the SMS has been sent.
