Biography

Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, known professionally as Burna Boy, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and record producer. He is one of the biggest and most influential African artists of all time.

Early Life

Burna Boy was born on July 2, 1991 in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. His mother managed legendary Nigerian artist Fela Kuti, exposing Burna Boy to Afrobeat from a young age.

Career

Burna Boy rose to fame in 2012 with his hit "Like to Party." His 2019 album "African Giant" earned him international recognition and a Grammy nomination. He won his first Grammy in 2021 for "Twice As Tall" and a second in 2024.
