DESIGN COMPARISON OF THE SAMSUNG GALAXY S10 AND THE HUAWEI P30 PRO
We’ve got a pair of stunners on our hands: the Samsung Galaxy S10 and Huawei P30 Pro scream quality and sophistication, and demonstrate everything that’s excellent about smartphone design. These two phones are incredibly pleasing to the eye, from the curved edges and build quality to the camera and casing colors.
First, let’s look at the Samsung Galaxy S10. It features a 93.1 percent screen-to-body ratio and a modest hole-punch notch in the upper right corner of its 6.1-inch, 1440 x 3040 screen. That’s a lot of screen space. The phone’s corners are adequately slim, and the back is just great— the fingerprint sensor has been moved to the front, behind the screen, leaving only the triple-lens camera and the Samsung logo. You can choose from six different colors.
The Huawei P30 Pro has a 6.47-inch screen with a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels and a screen-to-body ratio of roughly 89 percent. The top and bottom bezels are slightly thicker than on the Galaxy S10, and there’s a little teardrop notch in the center of the screen. We appreciate how the Huawei phone’s quad-lens camera is vertically aligned on the back – we think it looks better than the Samsung – and there are five different colors to select from.
SAMSUNG GALAXY S10 VS HUAWEI P30 PRO SPECIFICATIONS
Two devices that will keep your devices running smoothly for an extremely long time: the Samsung Galaxy S10, which has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 or Exynos 9820 processor inside, depending on where you live, where it comes with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage; and the Huawei P20 Pro, which has a Snapdragon 855 or Exynos 9820 processor inside, depending on where you live.
The Huawei P30 Pro, on the other hand, is equipped with the company’s latest and greatest Kirin 980 chipset, as well as up to 8GB of RAM and it has up to 512GB of internal storage. Running out of space for your photos, videos, and other information? You may add more capacity to your device by using a memory card.
Which is the best choice? It’s a close call, but it all comes down to the hardware and software optimizations that Samsung and Huawei have achieved beneath the hood. Simply said, few few phones launched this year should be able to outperform the Samsung Galaxy S10 or Huawei P30 Pro in terms of sheer performance.
FEATURES OF THE SAMSUNG GALAXY S10 VS THE HUAWEI P30 PRO
Both of these phones rely heavily on their cameras. The Samsung Galaxy S10’s rear camera is a triple-lens combination of 12MP+12MP+16MP, while the Huawei P30 Pro adds a depth-sensing time-of-flight camera to a triple-lens 40MP+20MP+8MP configuration. Huawei’s phone achieves a remarkable 5x optical zoom, owing to an ingenious periscoping arrangement inside, while Samsung’s phone achieves only 2x optical zoom.
On paper, the Huawei P30 Pro should be able to produce better images than the Samsung Galaxy S10, especially in low light and at high zoom levels, thanks to the addition of a second sensor and other technical innovations. The Galaxy S10 isn’t incompetent when it comes to camera performance, but it appears like Huawei is setting the bar even higher in terms of smartphone photography in 2019.
Apart from that, these two phones are quite similar, with wireless charging, fast charging, reverse charging, IP68 waterproofing and dustproofing, and both running Android 9 Pie (although it is being said that Samsung’s version of Android is much more preferable). It’s worth noting that while the Samsung Galaxy S10 retains the 3.5mm headphone socket, the Huawei P30 Pro does not.
VERDICT ON THE SAMSUNG GALAXY S10 VS HUAWEI P30 PRO
We’ve got two terrific phones here, and there’s not much that distinguishes them from one another in terms of design. We believe the Samsung phone has a more appealing design and more accessible software, and it’s also worth noting that you could upgrade to the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus if you felt the need for a larger screen and battery.
The Huawei P30 Pro performs admirably in terms of mobile photography, which is likely to be a major consideration for many of you. Its screen is larger than the one on the Galaxy S10, although the resolution isn’t quite as sharp – something to consider if you prefer your phones to be extremely large or particularly little.
The Samsung Galaxy S10 and Huawei P30 Pro both have plenty of power when it comes to performance, while most benchmarks imply that the Snapdragon 855 only edges out the Kirin 980 when it comes to graphics and artificial intelligence (AI). Design and camera are the most important aspects to consider when deciding in between two phones, so take your time and do your research.
