HUAWEI OR XIAOMI: WHICH IS THE BEST?

In trying to compare Huawei and Xiaomi, we look beyond Apple from America and Samsung from Korea. We are looking at these these two Chinese technology giants, who are gaining ground quietly.

1. BUSINESS MODEL OF THESE TWO CHINESE GIANTS

While these two companies are targeting a similar audience by focusing on the low to mid-range, they take an entirely different approach.

Huawei is a manufacturer of Smartphones (and other connected devices) whose main goal is to sell its products. In this sense, the company is somewhat akin to Samsung. Xiaomi on the contrary seeks above all to sell its digital products and services, their Smartphone being just one of many: they create an environment similar to that of Apple, and their phones are a means of accessing it. Much more discreet in traditional media, however, they have an internet marketing strategy that has allowed them to experience a dramatic rise in ten years.

Here, it is difficult to separate the two.

2. SERVICES OFFERED BY HUAWEI AND XIAOMI

Huawei is a multinational with a presence in many countries, with local branches that manage deposits, deliveries and customer service. This gives them responsiveness and knowledge of the particularities of each country.

On the other hand, Xiaomi is much less present internationally, and relies above all on a network of distributors. The products are delivered from China, with the possible delivery problems that this may cause.

In the end, Huawei therefore offers much better customer service overall, although this can vary greatly locally.

3. SMARTPHONE AND HARDWARE

Huawei is a smartphone maker that relies on the quality of its products, and it shows: their phones are rugged, efficient and of excellent manufacture. And when it comes to the camera and the lens, they’re probably the best in the world …
